Once pressed, the stems and skins from our Cayuga grapes are fermented and quickly distilled to produce this high-quality product. Our grappa is surprisingly smooth and aromatic and can be served alone as a digestif or at times replace gin in a cocktail.

A Vermont Distillery in the Islands

Our Vermont distillery is also a vineyard and a winery in the picturesque Champlain Islands of Vermont. Surrounded by the mountains and lake, you’ll find an oasis of calm, unlike anywhere else in the state, as you enjoy craft spirits and wines.

We make our Vermont spirits with grapes from our vineyard, juniper berries grown in the forests, and maple from our trees. Making everything here keeps us humble and authentic and creates products that complement our estate wines.

The first creation from the distillery was a fortified wine (port style) called Fortress Red. It is made with Frontenac grapes and fortified with alcohol made in the distillery. Soon after came our gin, maple liqueur, and grappa. Learn more about the port below.

Artistry Inspired by Generations of Distilling

Patrick Barrelet, Vermont winemaker and grape-growing pioneer, continues to devote excitement, innovation, and heart into his work in the Champlain Islands of Vermont.

Patrick’s artisan skills began at his family’s distillery in Bedford, Quebec, where his dad and uncle were distillers. Batches of eau de vie made by his grandfather continue to inspire him.

Craft Vermont spirits are born from our love of Vermont, Patrick’s artistry, and ingredients grown on our 120-acre farm. The result is magic in a bottle. 

Cocktail Recipes From Our Vermont Distillery

Snow Farm 75

Single serving

Ingredients

1/2 ounce grappa
1 1/2 ounce iced apple dessert wine
Pét-nat sparkling white wine
Dash lime or lemon juice

Directions

In a shaker half-filled with ice cubes, add all ingredients except for Pét-nat, strain into a champagne glass, and top off with Pét-nat.

Cranberry Gin Fizz

Single serving

Ingredients

6 oz cranberry juice
3 oz. Snow Farm Distillery gin
2 oz. simple syrup
Seltzer water to top off

Directions

In a shaker half-filled with ice cubes, add cranberry juice, gin, simple syrup, and shake. Pour into a rocks glass over ice and top off with seltzer water.

Pat’s Pét-nat

Single serving

Ingredients

1 oz. grappa
4 oz. Pét-nat sparkling white wine
Sprite and frozen fruit

Directions

In a medium-sized glass filled with ice, add grappa and Pét-nat and stir. Top off with Sprite and frozen fruit.
